In Memory….
A Message from the Founder
This organization was created in loving memory of my sister, Tabatha, who lost her battle with Lupus in 2014. It was one of the hardest losses I’ve had to endure in my lifetime. Her passing united my family to come together and be #TabbyStrong for one another. It truly brought the women of our blended family to become one. With Tabatha’s memory and spirit in mind, my niece and I initially created this page to bring more women together and honor her legacy. We also wanted to bring awareness to lupus for those who still battle this autoimmune disease.
The national symbol for lupus is a Butterfly & the color purple so we thought the name “Social Butterfly” would be a great representation of the incredible woman, mother, grandmother, sister, & aunt that she was. My sister, Tabatha, would light up a room the moment she walked in. She was very outgoing, and always had a positive outlook on life. Perhaps the butterfly is proof that you can go through a great deal of darkness, and still become something beautiful.
